Search Not Returning Results

I’m having trouble getting my search to return any results. No matter what I input into the search box, and no matter from what page I am searching from, I still get taken to the generic error page with the message:

Search Results:

Your search did not return any results.

Return to Previous Page

I checked to make sure that all of my channel fields are marked as searchable, and when I do search I am including words or phrases that actually appear in either the article’s text or title.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what I can check to get this to work?

I solved my own problem, but I feel this should be pointed out. When I was testing my search box, I was searching for text that I knew was contained within my Top and Featured articles. However, it seems as though by default the EE simple search only looks through content marked with the status of open. I added a parameter to include not only open, but the featured statuses, and that seems to have solved the problem.

Agreed, this should be noted. I just wasted a lot of time solving this. frustrating ~
