Source Code Issues

I’ve recently obtained a copy of the 4th edition. I’ve downloaded the source coded for the 4th edition at the following site: http://pragprog.com/titles/rails4/source_code

However, the code is not consistant with the book. It appears the source code is for a different application than the exercises in the book. For example, the book references various files, which don’t exist in the code.
For example, page 89 makes a reference to the following resources, which do not exist in the source code:
public/stylesheets/depot.css
public/images
etc

Furthermore, the truncate and strip_tags functions do nothing.

Is this book just out of sync with the source code? Thanks.
