It’s been ages since I mucked around with Java last, so if you don’t mind me semi-hijacking, I’d like to expand your query to a more general plea for help in getting any Java stuff going that I’m going to need to run the Java code examples. I was afraid I’d need to get some Java Web server going, but from what I’ve read so far in Ch. 2 perhaps that’s not necessary.

I finally got it to compile without error, but I am unsure of the syntax BASE_DIR, also when I run the class file I now get the error: Exception in thread “main” java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: SVGSlicer.

Any ideas?

How does one include the Batik stuff in their classpath? I am trying to compile this on a windows machine and I am not referencing it correctly? It errors out on every attempt.
