Any chance us first editions customers could get a discount? ;-)

My wife has clamped down on my tech book spending. :-(

Thanks,

Todd

I asked this question via email in September, here is the response below; hope it’s helpful. For what it’s worth, I just went ahead and bought the new ebook during the black friday sale :)

Thank you for your inquiry.
>> The only discount currently being offered is the ‘combo’ discount if you buy both the ebook and the print book together.
>> Updates to an ebook are free within an edition, but when it goes to a new edition, it becomes a new purchase. This is because of the amount of time that an author spends writing/rewriting with each endeavor. Updates within an edition typically require a lot less effort than updates between editions. If we offered discounted rates, then authors would have little incentive to take the the time to take books to a new edition.
