This title (the very first book Dave and I wrote) is published by Addison Wesley. We do not have the rights to sell a PDF version for this edition at this time.

How about coming out with a 2nd Edition by Pragmatic with pdf version? Does this sound a good idea?

I heard that this book is the first one if you take programming serious. So it´s pretty old, how about a new Edition with new information ? Also i prefer a PDF File.

I’d definitely buy it in PDF but my house is getting too full of dead tree books. Andy - surely if you put it to Addison-Wesley that they’d make a packet selling it as a PDF…? :-)

This is the “Must-have” book. A PDF version would be nice.

Everybody just calm down. I’m sure there will be a 10-year retrospective (with pdf version) released in 2011. ;-P

I agree with the comments - it’s 2010. I’m now at a point where I expect my technical references to be with me anywhere I want them (without carrying books around). I’d like to read this title but won’t buy it until it’s available in electronic format. I’m flat-out refusing to buy more physical technical books and letting publishers know this so the ones that haven’t yet realized “THE FUTURE IS NOW!” will get with the times.

Sorry, authors/publishers, but I remain firm on this one.

1) Safari books online via Acm.org (if you’re so inclined) 2) Buy some tokens (or wait a while to accumulate them) 3) Search for and select “The Pragmatic Programmer” 4) Choose “Download Book” (16 tokens)

“The Pragmatic Programmer” is available as a Kindle book but is limited to Kindle Devices only - no Macs, no iPads. Someday I will track down the person who made that decision and share my displeasure with them.

FYI, informit.com also has this as a PDF, as well as ePub and mobi. Watermarked, but DRM-free.
