Welcome, welcome, to another year at Hogwarts! Oops, no, that’s a different topic altogether. This forum is to talk about the magic of making games, not about magic in general.

Today I’m here to greet everyone and introduce you to the book titled Create Mobile Games with Corona: Build on iOS and Android, which is now in beta.

The current version is about 200 pages long, so this gives you a lot to learn about Corona until we get the book finished.

The book is not complete yet, so feel free to speak up and state anything you may find amiss: broken code, typos, and other errata. You can use the “report erratum” link on the book’s page, or this link: http://pragprog.com/titles/sdcorona/errata/add . Nice and friendly comments are welcome too, but keep those here instead of using the errata form ;)

Enjoy making games! I’ll stay around this forum in case anyone needs me.

I’m looking for where I can download the code files for the book. Specifically, I am looking for the class.lua file. I know the URL has got to be in the book somewhere. But I couldn’t find it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forums.

You can find the book’s code files in the book’s page: http://pragprog.com/book/sdcorona/create-mobile-games-with-corona

There are several links (in blue font) between the grey tabs and the book’s cover. Click on source code, and you’ll be able to download all the projects made throughout the book. You can find class.lua in any of the projects from chapter 3 onwards.

You can also use this link: http://media.pragprog.com/titles/sdcorona/code/SpritesAndMovement/class.lua to access the class file directly.
