The only major restriction we have on the code is that it can’t be used to create other books and training materials. Feel free to use it when discussing your answers to exercises. (And, thanks for asking!)

When reading a programming book, I generally do the exercises and then place my solutions online so that I can compare them with others. I don’t include the problem description or anything from the book so that there aren’t any legal issues.
I was about to start the IRC Lite exercises and realized that in order to put my solutions online, I would have to also include some of the original IRC Lite code. A quick check on this website revealed nothing about how the code is licensed, and the disclaimer at the beginning of the book says that nothing can be reproduced. Is there an exception for code from the book (as is often the case with other publishers) or is it true that none of it can be used elsewhere?
