Following along in video 2 I’m stuck about 3 minutes from the end.

The EC2 Bitnami Wordpress instance spins up. But when trying to “Access my application” button, it’s redirecting from the Elastic IP (publicly routable) to a 172.31.xxx.xxx (RFC 1918 space) address. (A VPC instance in AWS).

So I think I need to figure out how to configure the WordPress instance to set its HOME URL to the Elastic IP instance. (As opposed to changing the IP on the EC2 instance.)

Found answer at: http://wiki.bitnami.com/Applications/BitNami_Wordpress/Troubleshooting_WordPress#I_can_not_access_to_my_WordPress_application

Basically: 1) SSH into your Bitnami Wordpress EC2 instance 2) run: sudo /opt/bitnami/updateip –machine_hostname Your_Elastic_IP_Address

After that the redirect into RFC1918 space won’t happen.
