At the time I’ve bought the book. It’s not smooth and can’t follow the book to do what I need. Then gave up.

If it’ll be updated for the current version of Qt lib (v 4.5?) It’d be good. I’ll buy the full book again.

I recieved this message at the end of issuing ./configure

Basic XLib functionality test failed! You might need to modify the include and library search paths by editing QMAKE_INCDIR_X11 and QMAKE_LIBDIR_X11 in /home/eric/qt/mkspecs/linux-g++.

What path should these variables point to?

I bought the book and unfortunately found out about the lack of Qt4 features too late. Targeting beginners in this topic, it should be made very clear that current releases are not supported. Or maybe just update it ;-)

Hi,

I just purchase the book and I am stuck installing QtRuby.

I read the page: http://stevechanin.blogspot.com/2007/01/installing-qtruby-on-mac-osx.html but that doesn’t work either.

So here I am.

I have qt4-qtruby-1.4.10 downloaded from the QtRuby website.

I have QT 4.4.4 installed on my Mac (10.5).

When I try to follow either the instructions in the book, in the READ me, or the website I get this:

Heinrich17:qt4-qtruby-1.4.10 hbeck$ ./configure -with-qt-dir=/Developer/qt \—enable-mac—prefix=/usr
-bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

This might be very interesting, if it weren’t so out of date. I’d love to see support for Qt 4.4 and Windows.
