I fell in love with rails by reading this book. I used to program primarily java / .NET. Was reviewing the book and ran across the “Where’s my IDE” in Chapter 1 page 12.

It’s just a tiny bit condescending where it reads…

“If you’re coming to Ruby and Rails from languages such as C# and Java, you may be wondering about IDEs. After all, we all know that it’s impossible to code modern applications without at least 100MB of IDE supporting our every keystroke.”

If the book hopes to NOT turn away or turn off java / C# developers, I would suggest softening the “After all, we all know that it’s IMPOSSIBLE…” line.

Hope this is the right place to post the feedback?

Thanks,

Don
