Ezra Zygmuntowicz (this book’s main author) wrote a very interesting and exciting presentation which mentions the use of Swiftiply for dispatching requests to a cluster of slightly modified Mongrels. The two main advantages are gained performance and the ability to add/suppress Mongrel instances without any server restarts. Will the final book mention this very promising setup, or is the technology not mature enough? Best regards, Chris. |
