Getting Log4J error after installing Grails posted by Tom Corcoran @ Wed, 04 Jun 2008 14:13:24 -0000

Following chapter 11 to install Grails on Windows XP Pro SP2. I have followed the steps and typing a set at the command prompt shows
GRAILS_HOME = C:\Program Files\Grails\grails-1.0.2.
But a grails -version gives a log4j:error setFile(null.null) saying access is denied to Log4JLog.log

Is there a step missing or is it something to do with my setup?

Thanks, Tom.

How can I use groovy joint compilation with eclipse ide v3.3 or 3.4? posted by Joshua Foster @ Tue, 03 Jun 2008 18:23:23 -0000

I am pretty sure that the Eclipse plugin has issues as it beta. I would guess that the groovy-bin needs to be on the same classpath as the bin.

How can I use groovy joint compilation with eclipse ide v3.3 or 3.4? posted by St Clair S Clarke @ Sat, 15 Mar 2008 04:00:49 -0000

Hello,

How can I use joint compilation with Eclipse IDE v3.3 or 3.4.

I am asking because Programming Groovy states that mixing both Groovy and Java code is allowed, although other authors suggest compileing Java src to the bin direcotory and Groovy src to bin-groovy directory, the default for GroovyEclipse plugin.

When I compile to the bin and bin-groovy directory, the imported, calling any compiled groovy class from a java class results in a ClassNotFoundException. How can this be corrected.
I am asking because Programming Groovy states that mixing both Groovy and Java code is allowed, although other authors suggest compileing Java src to the bin direcotory and Groovy src to bin-groovy directory, the default for GroovyEclipse plugin.
