Just in case: in Wing’s preferences, do you have your Default Indent Size to something like 4?

If that isn’t the problem, you’d probable find more able help here:

When you email, let people know the version of Wing that you’re using, your operating system, and the piece of code that you’re trying to type that isn’t working properly.

If that doesn’t work, can you email me with that information and I’ll try to help?

in the book indent is not even named as necessary, so I have been trying a long time to find how to solve this problem. Could you add a little text in the book that one will have to indent when defining a function?

Thanks, J.J. We’ve just started working on version 2 of the book (updating it to Python 3 and making some other major changes), and we’ll definitely discuss this much earlier than we do now.
