Topic: FXRuby / why fx?

Thanks for answering my post. I didn’t realize they had published qtRuby as well and it was more of question whether the publisher had decided that fxruby was the defacto gui for ruby. It appears they have not and that they are simply publishing any good reference material. I look forward to learning and reading the book.

Topic: FXRuby / why fx?

so maybe this is answered in the book but why fox instead of one of the other gui apis? Is it because you feal fox is the clear leader in ruby gui’s or what exactly drove it to this point of publishing fox ruby over the other gui’s?

Topic: Agile Web Development with Rails / The Depot Application

Graham, I’ve been going through this book today for the first time as well and ran across this error. It appears that rails 2.0 does not directly allow this functionality any more (or rather does it in a different way). What I’ve done is gone back to instantrails and downloaded version 1.7 instead so that I’m using the same version of rails as the book. Hope this helps
