(from Hello, Android (3rd edition) > Eclipse Helios is out, so maybe Windows 64-bit problem is solved)

It seems that the box “32-bit vs. 64-bit” on pg. 23 is obsolete already, given that Eclipse Helios is out and there is a Windows 64-bit version of “Eclipse IDE for Java Developers.”

I use Ubuntu 9.10. so I have not tested it, though.
