Hello: I’m new to using Arduino Uno. As with most USB devices, the user is generally expected to safely remove the USB device. When I’m using the Arduino Uno (on Linux), I cannot find a way to do this.

Is it ok to simply remove the USB connector without sending a pc command?

Hi Dean!

I’ve probably removed Arduinos from Macs and PCs a thousand times and it never did any harm.

The “remove safely” option is mainly interesting for hard drives etc., because a hard drive should always get the chance to write buffered data to the physical disk before it gets unplugged.

Cheers, Maik
