When using an LED on a breadboard, on page 64, why do I need a resistor when I’m plugging the wire from pin 13 to the breadboard? Won’t the internal resistor work?

Thanks,

Kevin Graham

Hi Kevin!

You’re absolutely right: pin 13’s resistor is sufficient. But I’d like the readers to get used to putting resistors in front of LEDs. It’s really important and sooner or later you’ll forget it. Especially, if you use the Arduino to prototype a project that does not need an Arduino later on.

Cheers, Maik
