Unless I’m hallucinating, at some point I’d read a book or article that mentioned the work environment as a company value. I’m trying to find it again.
In this case “work environment” was not a positive. It included things like fixed work hours, strict hierarchy and unnecessary process.
I was thinking it was in Pete McBreen’s “Software Craftsmanship”, but I can’t find it there. “Peopleware” seemed like another possibility, but I’m not seeing it there, either.
If anyone can give me a clue, I’d greatly appreciate it.
