ebook 22 page 240 I get all the way to this point:

git push origin master

and I get the error:

ssh: Could not resolve hostname host: nodename nor servname provided, or not known fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

I can ssh into my server created on the mac. Any hints to what I am doing wrong? Or items to test/check?

First issue:

git remote rm origin

Then re-issue:

git remote add origin ssh://user@host/~/git/depot.git

… but this time, substitute your user name for user and your (remote) host name for host.

Thank you Sam.

This worked I think… has some command not found errors:

/.rvm/scripts/base: line 62: uname: command not found

looks like something to do with rvm.

But for the record my issue which Sam nudged me to google more about is what is the username I need to put in here… it turned out to be the username on my mac: akkdio

I also called my host name: depot.localhost.com so for those in a similar situation the full command for me was:

git remote add origin ssh://akkdio@depot.localhost.com/~/git/depot.git

Hope that helps someone. Now on to Capify . fun fun…

Uname should be provided with Mac OSX:

https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man1/uname.1.html

for those with a similar issue - I had to re-install rvm from scratch and then this issue went away.
