Sam, I think I read a reply on one of your posts that left me with the impression that you are considering dropping the section on Active Resource?

You have piqued my curiosity as to why that might not be included?

I ask, because this section in version 3 of the book was of invaluable help to me, although not quite as in depth as I would have liked, it gave me a great starting point.

I didn’t mean to give that impression. For a while, I was considering moving that chapter up to Part II, like I have done with mail and am about to do with deployment. At the present time, I’m inclined to leave in it Part III.

Part II is meant to give readers who are new to Rails hands on experience with all of the major components that they will need to know. In this edition, Mail (at least sending) and Deployment make that cut.
