I wanna say I’m pretty disappointed that the reference chapters wont be included, especially as Rails itself is changing substantially in v3. I understand that “that’s what the web is for” but honestly I learned MORE from the examples in the reference chapters in the third edition than I did from the depot example.

moreover, having the references viewable in book form (PDF) lets me have them on by ipad, and allows me to annotate, etc. Is there any chance the kind folks at pragmatic could consolidate the reference and what’s new examples from: into a PDF as a compendeum?

Just an FYI: I’ve asked a number of members of the Rails core team to look into producing either a PDF or EPUB version of the guides.

The guides in MOBI format would be perfect.
