Are there any differences between Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 with respect to NUnit that would merit a third edition? Or would I be safe in purchasing the second edition for Visual Studio 2008 and NUnit 2.4.8?
I’m going to assume from the lack of response that there will not be a third edition.
I certainly don’t have any inside information, but the 2nd edition already covers NUnit 2.4. I can’t see why Visual Studio 2008 would be much different with respect to using NUnit. All the tests are typically run from components included with NUnit itself (though the book does mention TestDriven.NET which allows you to run them inside of VS, and there is also ReSharper which the book does not mention). It seems like if there were to be a third edition, it would make more sense to wait until NUnit 2.5 is released.
RC 1 is available. I hope there will be a third edtion, too.
Will there be a third edition?
The lack of response makes me believe that re-opening this discussion is pointless, but…
Now I believe that a new edition of this book is warranted. With .Net 4 and VS2010, not to mention the MVC framework, an updated version of this book would be EXTREMELY valuable to have. Any chance?
I would buy it.
