Greetings team,

I started evaluating the work required for installing and configuring haddoop, zookeeper and hbase. I was quite intimidated. I am not challenged by long complex administrative tasks.

I was looking for prepared vm (vmware or kvm) image with hbase configured and running.

I did some detective search and found one. It is the vm image for Cloudera quick start vm 4.3. (Cloudera is a site/cluster management solution). You can find it here: Another option google for: ‘Cloudera QuickStart VM’

Once installed and running vm. Open Cloudera manager. Stop all services expect hadoop and zookeeper. Start hbase.

And you are ready to start. This can save you at least few day combat with hadoop and hbase.

Good luck.

P.S It will be kind by the authors, to provide the readers with a pre-configured vm image with all the databases, tools, configuration installed.
