2200 words according to @wc -w@, but I suspect this might be an overestimate. I’m not sure how @wc@ treats the sample code, and I’m afraid each small token gets counted as a word.

Since we all are tool-loving geeks, I should mention that I’m writing on Emacs in org-mode. Just for kicks I exported the document to PDF, which runs at 6 pages, but could use some editing to put it mildly ;-)

Are you surrounding your code in some kind of mark up?

Running word counts excluding code would be interesting.

Any general rule of thumb for a conversion from words to pages? I’m planning to just write plain text to get through the month. I’ve found the top hits on ye olde google say about 250-400 words per page. Is this about right?

The website assumes that one page is roughly equivalent to 250 words.

That’s what I’m going off as well. 250 words / page. Goal of 500 words / day.

Just to be clear, the two pages/500 words is a minimum not a maximum.

When I finally get into that optimal writing zone I blast right past it before I can reach a sensible stopping point. But not too far ;)
