The section in Chapter 1 on Installing on Windows is rather dated.

Ruby Windows Installer is now up to Ruby 2.4.2.

The shift to MSYS2 seems to be a definite improvement. Ruby and Rails install on Windows 10 64-bit went without a hitch.

Have you tried the Windows Subsystem for Linux? If that’s sustainable, it feels like a better way to go in the long run, but I don’t have a windows box to try it on handy…
