On page 33, you give examples of database specs for use with clojure.java.jdbc. As the maintainer of that library, I’d strongly encourage you to use the simpler, preferred format for those specs that use :dbtype and :dbname instead of :classname / :subprotocol / :subname.

In particular, this example:

(def db {:classname “org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver” :subprotocol “derby” :subname “books”})

should become:

(def db {:dbtype “derby” :dbname “books”})

and this example:

(def db {:subprotocol “mysql” :subname “//127.0.0.1:3306/books” :user “russ” :password “noneofyourbeeswax”})

should become:

(def db {:dbtype “MySQL” :dbname “books” :user “russ” :password “noneofyourbeeswax”})

Thanks.

Sean,

Thanks for taking the time to write. I’ve changed the example per your advice and it should show up in the next beta.

Cheer!

Russ
