I have to say that I really enjoyed this book and was wondering, given that it is a couple of years since its release, did the guys at ThoughtWorks have plans to produce another essay collection?
Is it still a worthwhile read, in 2011-2012?
Depends. Just as some essays are better than others, some are less relevant now than then. The essay on refactoring Ant for example was of little interest to me, but other essays such as “Object Calisthenics” and “Project Vital Signs” are still worthwhile (short) reading. If you can find it cheap enough then it’ll make for a few interesting hours.
