I’ve got a problem with 11.2 Iteration F2: Logging In pp 171-4. http://localhost:3000/admin gives the message:

Routing Error

No route matches “/admin” with {:method=>:get}

I’ve checked the code and I can’t see anything wrong. http://localhost:3000/users and http://localhost:3000/store work OK.

the app environment is:

Ruby version 1.8.6 (i486-linux) RubyGems version 1.3.1 Rails version 2.2.2 Active Record version 2.2.2 Action Pack version 2.2.2 Active Resource version 2.2.2 Action Mailer version 2.2.2 Active Support version 2.2.2 Application root /home/roy/programming/rails_apps/agile_rails/depot Environment development Database adapter mysql Database schema version 20090101035815

Thanks in anticipation.

See the footnote on the bottom of page 50. And the box on page 69.

The Rails developers tell me that this shouldn’t happen, and I must confess that I have so far been entirely unable to produce a reproducible scenario in which a restart of the server is required. But it does seem to happen. And a restart does seem to “fix” it.

Thanks Sam, the restarting fix worked. Actually, I missed reading that box on page 69. Happy New Year
