I take it that you have a sidebar, and that other parts of the sidebar (e.g. the quantity) are visible. And that the main area displays the products. Otherwise you would have mentioned those as problems.
If so, that’s good news, as there really shouldn’t be that many places for the bug to hide.
Possible areas: # “app/models/cart_item.rb”:http://media.pragprog.com/titles/rails3/code/depot_j/app/models/cart_item.rb @initialize@ isn’t copying the product to @product # From the same class, the @title@ method isn’t returning @product.title # “app/views/store/_cart_item.html.erb”:http://media.pragprog.com/titles/rails3/code/depot_j/app/views/store/_cart_item.html.erb has a problem with the line that calls @cart_item.title@

In this case, the book actually pointed me in the wrong direction. It instructed me to use <%-…%> instead of <%=…%> regarding pretty much the entire ‘Dash of AJAX’ chapter.
Scanning the book, the only occurrence of “<-“ that I can find is on page 505, and on that page, it is in comments (twice).
Can you provide me with a more specific reference?
