This might be obvious to more experienced cocoa developers but…

I had to fish around to see if I was going crazy or not but when you drag an NSTextView object onto the window by default it is rich-text as I was discovering while building the initial Grokking Recipe interface. So the binding “value” option is not there. You have to unselect the rich-text option to see it.

You may want to note that on page 21 under Adding The Recipe Details.

Thank you for the catch. I will add it into the next beta.

I just added your suggest to the errata so that it won’t be missed.

ah…so if I have suggestions I can add it to the errata instead of posting here? What would be your preference for when to post to the errata and/or when to post here?

It is preferred that you put in an errata. It is like a bug report that A) I must address one way or another and B) gets updated on the site so you can see when it was addressed.
