while typing this in, i was wondering, marcus, why you chose not to disable the Add Image menu item if no recipe is selected?

on page 32, you mention that

bq. You will also notice that we first check to make sure a recipe has been selected before we open the panel. A little bit of error checking can go a long way.

isn’t it more consistent for the app not to allow the user to select that menu item in the first place?

i’d be interested to learn about your reasoning behind this.

cheers,

marco

The application is not meant to be production ready. That would be far too much noise. However I check for a recipe to be selected because that would cause an error. Even if I disabled the menu item and discussed that tangent in full, I would still check for nil in the @-addImage:@ method because I am paranoid that way.
