Hi, I have an app with an sqlite database that stores locations with latitudes and longitudes. One of the features of the app is find the locations within a given distance of the user’s current position (as determined by the iphone’s GPS).

Would I be able to efficiently do the same thing using core data? Does the book discuss this topic? If so I will purchase.

This topic is very specific to your needs and is naturally not directly addressed in the book.

However Core Data would simplify your code base and therefore make your application more manageable. The speed would be about the same which results in a net win for your project. I highly recommend Core Data for any application that stores data.
